The things discussed on each forum are completely different. It would be silly to see one as a replacement for the other.

Lately when I've been trying to post at work (especially in now playing) friggen webmarshal pops up and stops me from being able to enter the post comment screen. Not sure why.

But it would be of great help if we had our 'quick reply' button back, because that seems to work every time.

Yep just tried again now in now playing, and it doesnt let me! was keen to share my sabbath with dio binge with ya'll

I got a bit sick of being the only person posting up shows, was a bit disheartened when advertized shows werent appearing on here, not being posted up by promoters or band members, the original hope for me was that nearly every metal show in the country would be advertized here, making the site invaluble for anyone wanting a full scope of the whole nations metal gigs. Gave up posting them all myself, especially since changing jobs - waaaaay busier at my new job, hardly any time to post up gigs constantly.

I was going to suggest post/talk about gigs more. I don't post every metal gig in town but I post gigs I'm going to, gigs with good bands or friends' bands etc. It'd be decent if everyone did the same.

So sounds like lack of gig posting is one reason
Works slowed down a little bit for me, so I need to get onto this
The Gig calendar things terribly out of date/empty

And need the Quick Reply back, i didnt actually know we removed it
Ill harass Death up

I reckon delete the gig calendar, was too much of a chore to maintain - and not enough people used it. It's only worth having something like that if every (or nearly every) gig is actually being posted. Maybe remove it, with a view to bring it back if we start getting way more gig listings.

Sounds like Webmarshal has cached the particular thread as breaching rules.

Maybe start posting gigs, attending and playing gigs and review them. Between Facebook, NZ Metal and Punkas there isn't much point using this forum.

I was offering valid information. I'm pretty sure no forum really needs your drug fucked/asbergers rants about pointless shit.

Honestly there isn't much point using it from my perspective, even for gig promotion now, I've never seen members from this forum attend gigs advertised here so it's basically pointless for advertising. In terms of discussions there's basically nothing and if there is it's the same lame shit as usual.

Yes you have.

Most of them you wouldnt know unless they had their username displayed on a nametag.

At a certain point we were getting hundreds of visitors a day (verify stats plz admins?) and was a powerful platform for advertising, but lost momentum this year when the moderators backed off a bit to see if the community would keep it running itself.

The idea of a non-discriminatory all-genres, non-elitist, wide scope of the nz metal community is still a good one and one that still needs to happen.

There is a reason why there is more new zealand-metal-related activity on punkas.com than there is on nzmetal.com

Same gig, your gig, Skoll

Not the best example. Filthy Lucifer is somewhat of a crust/crossover band with punk band members/friends.

I went to both Heresiarch gigs in Akld. I most likely heard about them on forums first... maybe not this one, but you could consider it a backup. It doesn't take long to copy & paste. If Skoll didn't post his gigs here, someone else probably would. Not everyone is on Facebook and trawling every single forum for gigs. I'm sure at least a few people are finding out about gigs on here that they otherwise wouldn't have known about. Whether they actually go to them is another question, but it gives them a place to discuss it as well.

If I have something to say on NZMetal that suits NZMetal, I'll post it there. I don't wanna talk about metal much though, I just wanna talk about "lame shit" with like-minded people. Try counting what portion of threads on Punkas are actually about Punk.

Same gig, your gig, Skoll

So what's the excuse for this forum then? I don't get your example really... If we're using the same gig then I posted the gig here and had 5 posts, 3 were by me.

I'm not complaining, just giving some thoughts onto why it's dead. I'd say there's more relevant Metal discussion on NZ Metal than Punkas too.

Listen to this guy.
Rants and Raves like a lunatic and then projects his shit at others.

Mental Illness effects lots of people.
doesn't mean your going to get any other "version" of them.
Moron!.
clearly lack the intelligence and common sense. to understand such a fuck up as yourself.

Can't say I really did anything that resembles ranting and raving... Seems like you're getting defensive more than anything.

You seem to be one of the most unfortunate cases.

What...? Do you read what you type? I'd be surprised if you even knew what you were talking about...

You're a total moron, you start a barely legible rambling thread about why this forum is quiet, I offer some insight and you turn into a sniveling child yet again...

haha. dream on buddy.

My point was, which you clearly missed. as much as you like to criticize people who you "think" have a mental illness, like somehow as if you think their going to give you a "different" version from you pointing it out. or somehow your miracle "band aid" of "stating a fact" can some how change anything? what a douche.

man your a sad case of a human being.
your like so sad. its concerning.

But I get it. You hate your life. You reflect that so much that you project that. And try to find every validation of it outside yourself. when clearly its all coming from within.

Sad

yeah facebook seems to be the dominant "community killer" nowadays. anything you can invent. Will eventually be an app or incorperated into the features of facebook. or you can login with facebook..

unless you goto google+.

PERHAPS linking a FB page here. or creating a FORUM APP for FB. or merging to GOOGLE+

This site has a plan, and its definitely not to even be in the same game as punk as or nz metal. We are onto bigger things, just lacked the time to implement them, but it seems time is freeing up.

Thanks for the comments about the lack of use, and you are right things have dropped, still in the last week we have had 261 visits. New things are coming so keep checking up on us.
