I've wanted to do something like this for awhile (but not enought to actually initiate it)
More a worldwide thing though, so people who live on opposite sides of the globe, who have never met and probably never will meet. The difficult part would be finding a drummer who has his own (free) means of recording. otherwise the drum part could just be programmed.

what about a "One man band" competition, submit a song entirely written and recorded yourself and we can have a poll?
