Lamb of God Announce Auckland Show In March

The first of our fall-out from Soundwave 2012 has been announced with long-serving US metallers Lamb of God returning to NZ in March. They will be joined by The Black Dahlia Murder and Unearth playing at The Studio in Auckland.

Lamb of God
w/The Black Dahlia Murder and Unearth
Wednesday 7th March, The Studio, Auckland

Tickets on sale this Friday 14th October from here at UTR and Real Groovy.

Press Release:

15 years ago, LAMB OF GOD began their ascent to the forefront of modern heavy metal. A self-described “pure American metal” quintet from Richmond, Virginia, took deliberate steps, paid the dues and withstood the knocks as an underground, uncommercial metal act. Beloved by a rabid, grass roots cult of underground thrash fanatics thanks to brutal and technical albums like 2000’s 'New American Gospel' and 2003’s 'As the Palaces Burn', the band toured relentlessly. 10 years after their inception, the band had risen to the top of the independent metal scene. Their uncommon work ethic, uncompromising musicianship and intellectual lyrics set them apart - and into unchartered territory.

The fact that Lamb of God are still with us — after more than a decade that’s seen countless bands arrive on the scene and then disappear forever into the mists of obscurity — can basically be attributed to a combination of integrity, hard work and even harder riffs. For each of their records, Lamb of God have toured relentlessly, including going out in main support of Ozzy Osbourne on Ozzfest 2007, Slayer on the Unholy Alliance tour, Megadeth on the Gigantour, multiple European festival appearances, in addition to headlining tours across North America and overseas alike.

Lamb of God has built a career and a catalog of material that has inspired and fueled the evolution of heavy metal in the new millennium, combining every lesson learned and years of experience with the unbridled aggression of the quartet that met up some 15 years ago. Their status in the global metal scene is a testament to the integrity of the band, choosing well into their career, on their terms, to go further and push harder than ever before.

Joining Lamb of God for this massive metal package will be fellow Statesiders THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and UNEARTH. Following their dual headlining tour through Australia and New Zealand in the winter of 2010, both bands return to the metal-hungry shores of Aotearoa with new albums in tow - The Black Dahlia Murder's 'Ritual' and Unearth's 'Darkness in the Light' - both of which were released by Metal Blade Records, the pre-eminent label in global metal. Between The Black Dahlia Murder's fusion of intricate melody and sheer brutality and Unearth's penchant for skull-thumping stomp and groove, these two eternally rising stars of American heavy metal present two live tours de force that are not to be missed by any serious headbanger.

Metal began in the clubs, and it is to this environment which these three luminaries of relentless heaviness return, under the roof of inner city Auckland's recently enlarged and redeveloped Studio on Karangahape Road. With such an up-close and intimate setting, tickets for this show will not last long - miss out on this unique riff and beer drenched opportunity at your peril.
