Peavey 5150 & matching 4x12 cab

Postby lungeater » Thu Feb 16, 2012 9:15 pm

yo. so i've got this mate at work who's selling a 5150 with 4x12 cab for $500 on behalf of her brother since he's left the country.

i don't know all that much about amps and i know it's massive but i'm keen to look into it anyway. it's not like i'm playing any live shows or anything right now but who knows what the future holds? what questions should i ask about it? what do i need to know? is this a good deal? should i invest? etc.

help a brother out.

RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP!!!! I sold my 5150 II head and cab for $2400. Sale of the fucking century right there. DO IT!!!

Not only is it cheap, they don't make 'em any more, and they're a goddamn awesome amp. I only sold mine because I've retired from gigging.

Edit: I see this is an old-ish post... did you buy the amp?

buy it and stick it up on trademe for $1800 straight away. These are really sought after and are GREAT amps. That's an insane bargain.
