Remodeled Guitars

Postby Rob » Wed Jun 23, 2010 2:09 am

Hey guys.

Here is a guitar i have owned since i was 16, long story short. i teased a christian guy on my course @ the time that his guitar had the serial #66673. and by the end of the week he freaked out and gave me it. ha. random. anyway. its had a rough and hard life. recently i got around to remodeling it.

Originally it was a Vester Custom Shop. 80's Metal Axe
V2 Pickups, Sunburst paint job, etc.

Now this is how she looks after 1 weeks effort sanding/repairing and painting.
Removing Neck Pickup, Covered the cavity, removed tone + selector.
Gloss Vivid white paint with black hardware and eventually i will purchase a new set of black tuning heads. and perhaps some locking nuts and a whammy

Atm I have the old V2 in there. its a really nice sound atm and considering upgrading to a EMG Active. but not sure yet.
Anyway. here are some photos. i should have taken before and after because there's alot of work on the body done, considering she had a hard life.

Jake, the body is ALDER and MAPLE. i sanded it right down to the wood before painting it and yeah man lookin @ ibanez's or other gat u can usually see many peices of a plied wood making up the body. this is 1 piece. its amazing awesome and dark and light wood. to bad its white now. =D cant show off the wood.
have you played around with the v2 before>? there a vintage 80's thrash/shred pickup with a rather nice tone. the funny thing is. they are secretly made by DIMARZIO, licencsed under ibanez, placed in vester custom shops from like 80's lol. random aye.

yeah i took the neck pickup out. 2 reasons. i had a paul stanley iceman neck pickup the AH2. now the V2 was just way to grunty. any pickup that wasnt tough enough just didnt have any power next to the V2. im thinkin of a Image

2ndly. doesnt it just look so damn awesome without a neck pickup and no selector / tone. very BAUHAUS. simplistic aye.
