Infowars is up there, but Naturalnews is #1, which is the king of horseshit junk science. The loon that runs that site must count on his readers not cross-checking facts. The last article I read there was about microchipping humans and it debunked itself!

Feasible, yes. Badly misrepresented and factually twisted by Naturalnews.com, entirely.
The supporting links countered every claim made by the fruitloop who wrote the article. Typically, they conveniently left out any facts that didn't paint the paranoid picture they were aiming for (namely, they're tattoos, not implants, don't cause cancer as far as we know, and are actually really fucking welcome change from bulky monitoring equipment for heart patients.)

from what i gather. there is 2 types of this for extra confusia...

1 is a tattoo like matrix code that will only relay info such as "medical allergies , dob, driver licence number" etc.

the microchip however is an electronic RFID device. .. big difference between the 2.

almost all dogs and cats nowadays are being microchipped also.

The chip I was reading about is for use in outpatients who need to be monitored, for example, heart monitors. Current monitors are bulky and inconvenient.

The article stated that people are being implanted with cancer-causing microchips. One supporting article, when I read it right through, said it was in trial phases. The second footnote was the bit about cancer - well yeah, some chips *might* cause a slight increase in lab rats... with microchip implants, not tattoos, as the original article already stated.

It was a total non-story, with cherrypicked bits that made up an imaginary conspiracy.

It's as if the writers of this crap know their credulous readers won't bother to follow up the footnote links and find out the real story. The must count on their readers being total suckers too, going by the horseshit products they try to sell on their site. What is it with conspiracy and "alternative" thinking/science/medical sites and peddling bullshit products and machines that don't work? They're fucking everywhere. *edit* Gold/Silver buying schemes too, they've been showing up a lot.

Haven't seen it yet... will get back to ya.

I've got his "Mind Tricks" book - very insightful. Learned a few tricks but nothing on the level of what he's capable of. Was hoping there'd be more on cold-reading so I could work on the whole fake psychic shtick... but have since got my hands on a book by mentalist Banacheck (signed, $3!!! Yay for the Sallies) and a couple of others on the subject.

He can fuck with susceptible people.

Notice how he spends quite a while watching the audience (possibly for quite a long time without the editing) sussing out the audience, finding the most willing-to-comply people.

In the book I've got by him, he goes into hypnosis quite a lot, and says most of it is just a matter of grooming the crowd and searching out the biggest sucker. When he talks to an audience or a room of people on that show, he's monitoring the body language of every single person.

He's the first to admit that he leaves out all the fuck-ups when things don't go as planned and someone doesn't go along with it. I guess that's the different between a mentalist and a psychic. With a mentalist or magician, it's a given that they're shitting you all along.

Those people in the above video are willing to do some nasty things - but one thing to remember is this - they're not in some sort of mystical trance. They're on a TV show, and deep down they know that nothing bad could ever happen. In the back of their mind, I bet they knew that the acid was just water.

In one bit of the book, he talks about his early attempts at hypnotism. Back then he thought you had to spend a good 45 minutes "priming" the subject, and once that was done, you could snap them into a trance whenever you wanted... well one day he did it to a friend, thinking that he'd primed him already. He clicks his fingers and immediately his friend nods off - only Derren never actually "primed" the guy! It was that moment that he realised all he needs is someone who believes. This is what performing psychics plan on.

yeah those are the kinds of people that actually teach people, through being an accurate representation of their experience, that there is no outside involvement of trying to manipulate the experience in another. the knowing know that this is something that is accepted and willingly done by the participants. be it concious or not.

although. think about how often we each are all con'd day in day out be it false morals and codes of conduct between peers that we adhere to just to get by... strange huh!.

thats why people like mikey havoc and dai henwood or mind freak brown, are classic, what it is, is they push the boundrys of what we accept to be "the norms" were kinda like "can he do that?, can he get away with that?!" of course. get on board. its a load of fun.
